Dr. Karsten Wambach ist Leiter des Geschäftsbereichs SolarMaterial der Deutsche Solar AG, Freiberg, einer Tochter der SolarWorld AG. Seine Hauptaktivitäten bei SolarMaterial umfassen das Scale-Up neuer technologischer Prozesse wie z. B. die Rückgewinnung von Solarsilizium und Nebenprodukten, das Recycling von Solarzellen und -modulen, das saure Ätzen von Wafers und Silizium sowie die Entwicklung neuer metallurgischer Reinigungsprozesse für Solarsilizium.

Er ist aktives Mitglied der IEA PVPS Task 12 „Umweltverträglichkeit und Sicherheit von PV-Systemen“ und Leiter der Arbeitsgruppe „PV CYCLE“ beim BSW (Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft) und EPIA. Er arbeitet seit 20 Jahren im Bereich der Fotovoltaik und beschäftigt sich seit 15 Jahren mit dem Recycling von Modulen.

Dr. Martin Sommer ist weltweiter Produktionsleiter Modul bei der Schott Solar AG sowie Gschäftsführer der SCHOTT Solar CR, s.r.o.. Er hat Maschinenbau und Volkswirtschaftslehre an der RWTH Aachen studiert. Nach seiner Doktorarbeit am Fraunhofer Institut für Lasertechnologie ist er zur Schott Gruppe gekommen, wo er in verschiedenen Leitungsfunktionen im Fertigungsbereich gearbeitet hat. Bevor er seine aktuelle Aufgabe übernommen hat, war er Produktionsleiter bei Schott Solar Inc. in den Vereinigten Staaten.

Wilfried  Taetow studied electrical engineering at the Technical University in Darmstadt, where he received his Master Degree in 1979.  He started his professional career in the semiconductor industry at Analog Devices. During 16 years at Analog Devices he held several European and international management positions in sales and product marketing before he joined SANYO Component in April 1997.
At SANYO he started as European Sales Manager for the Rechargeable Battery Division.  During this time Wilfried was the representative of SANYO in the European Portable Battery Association (EPBA / Brussels) and in the Central Association of Electrical Industry Germany ( ZVEI).   Out of a battery working group of ZVEI the German Collection System for Batteries ( GRS ) did emerge in 1998.  Representing one of the foundation companies, Wilfried became one of the board members of GRS and hold this position for two years. In the following years he took over several management positions and tasks in SANYO Component. He was project manager for the introduction of SAP and also head of the SCM division for two years. In the last 3 years he was Vice President General Affairs and responsible for the Finance-, HR-, Administration-, PR- and IT-department of SANYO Component.   Since April 2010 Wilfried is corporate Advisor to the president of SANYO Component. 

Luis López machte 1987 seinen Abschluss in Physik an der Universität Complutense in Madrid und erhielt 1989 seinen Master of Science in Mikroelektronik.

Er begann seine berufliche Karriere als Forscher an Gassensoren, die auf CMOS-Halbleitern basieren. 1991 wechselte er zur Halbleiterindustrie als Prozessingenieur bei Lucent Technologies, nach einigen Jahren wurde er Metrologie- und SPC-Leiter und schließlich stellvertretender Direktor für Operationen.

2002 stieß er zur Solarenergiebranche und arbeitete in der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsabteilung von Isofotón. Heute ist er bei Isofotón Leiter der Qualitäts- und Umweltabteilung, wo er sich um alle Qualitäts- und Umweltfragen kümmert. Zudem ist er aktiv bei globalen Initiativen tätig, die eine nachhaltige Entwicklung anstreben.

 Vågnes Eriksen is an Economist with wide-ranging knowledge of the energy sector and specialist expertise in sustainable value creation and good governance. She has a wide experience of strategy for sustainability value drivers, branding strategy, compliance and management systems, training programs, cost-benefit analyses and impact assessments. Vågnes Eriksen has been with the REC Group since 2008, reporting to the CTO in the Group Management. Prior to REC, she has worked with Statkraft, Sweco and Enco Environmental Consultants. She has for the past 10 years represented her companies in major sustainability forums like WBCSD, Eurelectric, EPIA and PV Cycle. As a Board member of PV Cycle, Vågnes Eriksen would like to contribute to the establishment of a sound financial model for PV Cycle with a cost-efficient operational scheme for collection and recycling of PV modules that is viable in the long term.

Eleni Despotou ist stellvertretende Generalsekretärin und Policy Director der EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association). Sie kam 2002 zur EPIA.

Sie hat Maschinenbau mit Spezialisierung auf Energie sowie Politikwissenschaft mit Spezialisierung auf internationale Beziehungen studiert.

Sie lebt, studiert und arbeitet seit 20 Jahren in Brüssel und ist mit allen EU-Institutionen und der europäischen Gesetzgebung vertraut. Sie befasst sich insbesondere mit Energiefragen und der Lobbyarbeit hinsichtlich der Richtlinien für erneuerbare Energie.

Zudem ist sie Koordinatorin der europäischen Fotovoltaik-Technologieplattform (EU PV TP) und Mitglied des Exekutivausschusses der IEA PVPS sowie Mitglied von verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Komitees.

Sie ist an der Leitung verschiedener europäischer Projekte innerhalb von ALTENER, IEE, FP 5, FP6, FP 7 usw. beteiligt und nimmt aktiv an europäischen und internationalen Konferenzen zu technischen und richtlinienbezogenen Problemen (europäische Gesetzgebung, Positionen usw.) teil. Darüber hinaus ist sie innerhalb der EPIA für FTE-, Standardisierungs- und Zertifizierungsfragen verantwortlich.

Jan Clyncke kam am 1. April 2008 als Generalsekretär zu PV CYCLE.

Er schloss 1991 die Universität von Ghent mit dem Bachelor of Law ab. Er setzte sein Studium an der Hochschule von Ehsal und der Vlerick Management School fort. Am Anfang seiner Karriere arbeitete er als Produktions- und Logistikleiter in der Fleischindustrie, bevor er zum Abfallwirtschaftsbereich wechselte. Er war bei der holländischen AVR-Van Gansewinkel-Gruppe angestellt, wo er als Projektleiter und als Leiter für Recht und Regierungsangelegenheiten Benelux tätig war. In den letzten drei Jahren, bevor er zu PV CYCLE kam, war er in diesem holländischen Unternehmen zuständig für den Bereich Gesundheit, Sicherheit und Umwelt.

Er hat Erfahrung in der Einrichtung von freiwilligen und verpflichtenden Rücknahmeprogrammen für Verpackungsmüll, Altreifen, alte Pflanzenöle und -fette, Altöl (Schmierstoffe), Altelektrogeräte, leere Farbdosen, Flachglasabfällen, fotochemische Abfälle usw. aus Privathaushalten und Betrieben in Belgien und den Niederlanden.

Dr. Virginia Gómez nahm im Januar 2009 ihre Funktion als Wissenschafts- & Betriebsingenieurin bei PV CYCLE auf.

Sie schloss 2003 die Universidad Pública de Navarra als Telekommunikationsingenieurin ab. 2008 erhielt sie ihren PhD-Abschluss in Technik an der Vrije Universiteit von Brüssel, wobei sie sich auf die Charakterisierung und Fertigung von Mikrolinsen aus Kunststoff und Halbleitern spezialisiert hat.

Im Rahmen ihrer Doktorarbeit arbeitete sie erfolgreich mit Forschungsgruppen aus der ganzen Welt sowie mit wichtigen Industriepartnern zusammen.

Sie ist aktives Mitglied des Netzwerks NEMO (Network of Excellence on Micro-Optics) und des sechsten Rahmenprogramms für Forschung (FP6) der EU und arbeitet zudem als Rezensentin für internationale Fachzeitschriften.

 Anne Vleminckx obtained a Masters degree in Economics in 1975 at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. Her career covers academia, the financial sector as well as industry.  She occupied different functions in the field of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. Before joining PV CYCLE, she acted as Chief Financial Officer of the Agfa-Gevaert group.

She joined PV CYCLE as Senior Financial Advisor in April 2010.

 Olmina Della Monica joint PV Cycle in May 2010 as Management Assistant and first point of contact for Germany and Italy. She graduated in 2004 from the University of Salerno  with a BA in languages. She continued her studies in Berlin and she achieved in 2006 a master in international trade and Marketing. She has worked in different European countries, lately especially in sales and marketing department.

She speaks fluently Italian, English, German and French.
